| Here we have two CDC feathers that are "married" or matched as twins, one atop the other. This can be done with up to four feathers per wing. The more feathers the better the"floatability" of the fly. Please note I am not saying that the CDC feathers will float this bug like a cork, but rather when kept clean, the CDC will float the fly for a period. On flat water this period can be substantial, on chop, well, six feet might be considered good. What I do like about CDC is that when the "float" is over the fly will only sink below the film. When the wing is tied with two feathers, this neutral buoyancy appearance is ideal for emerging bugs. . |
