Once the hackle wraps get to the bottom,roll the hackle tip under the eye and back up. This manuver "breaks" the stem and allows for the stem to return back up and on top of the hook eye parraell to the shank.This gives you ,the tyer, a clean ,flat and smooth area to tye down the hackle stem
